The white oak is Maryland’s state tree! This beautiful tree can be found presiding over pastures, as well as, providing shade in urban neighborhoods. Its broad-spreading crown is impressive when young and improves with age. The leaves are a true-green in color, deeply lobed, and the blond bark is deeply ridged with furrows. The wood from this tree is waterproof!
